gstuartw I agree with molliemartian. While attractive, this is a very undesirable place to store wine. Heat rises so upper cabinet storage of temperature sensitive wine is a bad idea. Throw in the heat generating fridge below that and you have a double dose of wine killing temps. No matter the storage issues, wine storage in this area is not a good idea.
Debbie There is a way cool silver-sorta bubbled material, like what this mechanic used at the Smartcar place, and we bought...it's a "heat resistant blanket" but has firmer body (than a blanket) to it. and it really works to keep the heat (and noise) of the engine compartment out of the back storage/dog area.
How do you open the refrigerator door without hitting the wall? - My refrigerator is next to a door. Each time we open the refrigerator it opens all the way and hits the door. I can open the pantry door, but this means the door is open most of the time. This does not look good with the open concept kitchen. We are trying to sell our home and need a suggested fix. Thanks for any help. »
Synergy Design & Construction I agree with Conceptual's suggestion regarding the hinge for your situation. In future remodeling projects, you simply had a small cabinetry "filler" between the wall and the fridge so you don't run into that same situation.
kellya6 I have the same design and refrigerator type. I use a clear bumper (about 1/2' square)that sticks on the wall. It prevents a ding in the door of the refrigerator and isn't noticable.
bown I have this fridge, it's really nice to look at but the water dispenser doesn't have the "in door" ice option. The ice maker is actually in the freezer drawer and the ice falls in it's own little drawer. It's a pain to get to it!
PS: I love this kitchen and my renovation is going to be based on this!
This built-in wine rack features a crisscross design as an unexpected geometric element. Keeping the wine rack the same color and material as the rest of the kitchen makes for a seamless design.
