Synergy Design & Construction Thanks for the question! The size of this kitchen is about 14'-6" (left to right, in this photo) by 12'. This is not including the raised countertop seating area and beyond, or the breakfast area on the left (with the table).
Light fixture over the table--what is the metal finish? - House we just bought has dark flooring, brown granite, and cherry Shaker style cabinets--the location was reason for purchase so we ignored some design issues. The owners have three different fixture styles/finishes, different flooring that doesn't really work either.. I want to use ORB fixtures and replace some SS knobs in kitchen and some nickle light fixtures to get more uniform concept. My husband wants to keep the SS/satin nickle---but the brown granite in kitchen just seems wrong color for nickle... »
houston2012 You can install SS formica to bring the silver to the kitchen in the kick plate at the bottom of your cabinets is around 100 dollars per sheet but looks like the real thing get a professional to do it or learn to install it yourself ,I would instal it on the side of the cabinet on top of your stove I can see it in the picture is small detail but will bring the ss.
Synergy Design & Construction Hi and thanks for the question! You are right, having uniform finishes for the different metal elements in your kitchen can really help unify the design and bring it "under control." For example, in this photo, the light fixtures and cabinet hardware match. That being said, there can be a few places places where the finish varies -- for example, here the faucet is brushed nickel. In this case, it would be smart to have all the plumbing fixtures match in finish, although they are not the same as the light fixtures and hardware.
In the above photo, the light fixtures are a dark oil rubbed bronze. This is a rich traditional-looking finish which is becoming very popular. However, there is always a place for brushed nickel! It is clean and fresh, and don't worry, its simple look helps it match anything.
Synergy Design & Construction Thanks for the question! This client had actually already chosen and purchased the tile flooring, so unfortunately we don't know the name.
Synergy Design & Construction Actually it’s an exotic granite; however our records don't indicate the name, sorry. We would highly recommend visiting a granite showroom to see some exotic options in person. There are many available and they all look different.
this is one of my favorite kitchens because i love the color of the wood with the marble countertops. this style would be art deco because it is slick and fleshy, yet modern.
