Synergy Design & Construction Thanks Lindsay! All of our clients have varying tastes and we do our best to guide them to the design that is the best fit for them ;-)
Synergy Design & Construction We purchased the tiles through Mosaic Tile in Chantilly, VA, but you should be able to show this image to any tile supplier and they should be able to find something similar. They were not peel and stick.

It should look fine with Venetian Gold, but I'd take a sample to the granite showroom to be sure you like it.
Synergy Design & Construction Hi, This particular backsplash was selected at a tile showroom with one of our designers. It’s a multi-color glass subway tile. I would think you would able to find something similar at a home improvement store. However, we would suggest visiting a tile showroom because they will have many more options and unique solutions.
Would you ever use a different granite on the counters than the island? I think it would make the island look like an afterthought... my husband thinks it would make the island pop as a focal point.... »
Rebekah Zaveloff | KitchenLab Because the floors are slate, I would suggest sticking to the same countertops on both island and perimeter - there are a lot of materials going on. If you had bamboo floors throughout, I think it would be fine to do a different material on the island, but I would stick with something simple - not a lot of speckles or veining. Concrete is option as well - it's very subtle.
Synergy Design & Construction We would also recommend sticking with the same granite for the island and the perimeter cabinetry. This will give the kitchen a more cohesive look. Since you are already doing the island in a contrasting finish that will make it a focal point without changing the countertop.
I have this exact granite and was looking for a perfect backsplash. This is beautifulThe eye-catching backsplash of glass mosaic min-subway tiles runs all the way between the base and upper cabinets.
Like the top of the cabinets. Maybe, if I could put large piece of moulding across top, might be an improvement. But also like the curved piece running under the moulding.
