The history of Lane & Co. is uncertain but is believed to have been located in Los Angeles in the early 1950s and to have been sold in the 1960s. Lane & Co. made various works of table and decorative pottery. The company was founded by Jack S. Lane, and originally located in Los Angeles, moving to neighboring Van Nuys in the mid-1950s. By 1955, Lane & Co. was listed as a member of the Van Nuys Chamber of Commerce, located at 14660 Arminta Street, Van Nuys, California. The company was sold in 1963, and continued until the 1970s as Lane Ceramics, with manufacturing in Van Nuys, as a division of Condecor, Inc., of Mundelein, Illinois. Today Lane & Co. pottery is part of the collection of the Museum of the San Fernando Valley.
