Can you tell me how much space is between the edge of the wall and edge of mirror? - I am planning on placing sconces on either side of vintage style mirrors in my master bath but may be running into an issue with space. One of my cabinets will be up against the wall and the mirror will be centered above. The mirror is 33" across at the widest point (somewhat diamond shaped with decorative etched edges) and the cabinet is 36" wide. Hoping to have the same look you have here with the sconces at the proper height. »
Joseph Farrell, Architect There is about 1" of separation between the edge of the mirror frame and the sidewall. The sconces go thru the mirror's frame.
bathdilemna Thanks for replying. I'm not clear on your answer - looking at this photo, I don't see where the sconce goes through the mirror frame. I see where the frame ends then I was guessing you had about 5-6 inches of drywall besides the edge, which is where I see the sconces mounted. I will have something similar but maybe a little less wall space. It appears that the base of the sconce goes flat on the wall, not the mirror.
