Miniature Lockheed Lounge by Vitra
Originally envisioned by designer Marc Newson as a fluid, ultramodern take on a classic chaise lounge, the Lockheed Lounge got its name by employing the same manufacturing methods once used to make airplanes. Like the original 1986 design, the Vitra Miniature Lockheed Lounge is made out of aluminum sheets manually formed into curves and attached to the fiberglass body with rivets. Founded in Switzerland in 1950, Vitra produces intelligent and inspiring furniture and accessories for the home, office and other public spaces. Ever mindful of the importance of sustainability in design, Vitra creates furnishings with high quality and versatile style that ensures functional and aesthetic enjoyment for the long term.
