I have one of these huge windows on the west wall in my bedroom. Because it faces the setting sun it becomes unbearably hot in the summer. I've put glass darkening film on the glass but that's not a great look. I would like to add a prettier touch but don't know how. Right now I've put a shaped piece of foam siding there, painted the side facing the street black so that it doesn't show, the inside is the siding color which is pink. The dimensions are 54 across with the arc at half, 27" high. There's a window below which is part of this and that's also 54" and 60" high. Please, do you have a workable solution, I'm a seamstress and handy lady who can do just about anything by myself with the help of my tools. Also, must mention that the space between the glass and the wall is about 5", a bit more than what's in your picture. Alice in Atlanta Area. Your's looks pretty much the same as mine. »
Media Decor This is a certainly an afternoon/sunset dilemma. Plantation shutters will definitely solve the problem, but will be quite expensive. Solar shades are also a solution, but be sure NOT to use white, use black as mentioned above.
