Enjoy this unique take on an important contemporary issue. Reproduced from a high-quality photograph, this print maintains the detail and aesthetic of the original piece. It depicts a redesigned closed sign to signify foreclosure. This piece was created in the third episode of the second season of Work of Art: The Next Great Artist. The artist was tasked with creating a piece of contemporary pop art. The artist uses multiple transparent sheets of plastic as well as paint, to create a multi-dimensional aspect to the sign. The colors blend together to create a beautiful final project. Hailing from Royal Oak, Michigan, Sarah Kabot is a talented artist specializing in installations and sculptures. She attained a BFA from the University of Michigan, which she followed up with an MFA from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. A successful artist, Sarah had a Workspace Residency at the Dieu Donne in Manhattan, and had solo shows at the MOCA Cleveland, the Akron Art Museum and at Smack Mellon.
