Style On a Shoestring Thank you! It's been a while since the shower was framed and so I don't recall specifically but long probably 7 feet and 3'.5" -4 feet wide perhaps. Sorry I don't have exact measurements for you.
Felix Bur We are thinking of doing the 'curbless' shower. Is it practical in terms of water splashing, etc. I assume the door has to open inward to avoid moving the rug every time. Any insight would be great! Is 4'x5' sufficient size?
Style On a Shoestring You ask the quesiton on this bathroom photo; however your quesiton does indicate that you are asking about the kitchen for this project so to be clear, I will answer about the kitchen material for the Whitton project. The kitchen material is soapstone. I don't recall the specifc slab name that was selected but you can see a variety of soapstone material at http://www.soapstonewerks.com/about/
55kevy Thank you. In the Houzz iPad app if you ask a question about other project photos than the one shown, it goes to the one shown....if that makes sense :)

Style On a Shoestring The hardware was purchased at San Diego Hardware. Unfortunatley, I don't recall the specific manufacturer but try Emtek or try sending the picture to San Diego Hardware where I am certain they could help. Good luck!
Style On a Shoestring Yes we did put the windows in the bathroom remodel. What is it that I can tell you about and I will be happy to contact the representative that we purchased from and get any answers that you need.
lucia77 Are these vinyl windows? It appears that the tile goes into the sill and right up to the window - What material was used for the jambs? Were any other steps taken to prevent water from getting into the window or wall? Thanks so much for your help!
Hi, currently planning out the en suite for our new penthouse; for which we decided to go for a contemporary design. Would you suggest going for a shower tray for the shower or tiling the shower floor (as seen in the picture) however possibly including a curb? Although the design element is very important to us, practicality wins over!? »
Style On a Shoestring I am happy to help! A shower pan or tray as you call it is certainly less expensive than tile but it's also not as interesting as tile. As long as you make a good choice with the tile selection you can have both the beauty that tile provides and the practicality that is important to you. Hope this helps!
Shawn Lagemann Since you are in a penthouse, I will assume that you have a concrete substrate. Because of this you will most likely need a curb to achieve proper drainage. Cost will greatly depend on the size of your shower. Pans do have size limits and odd shapes can have a significant upcharge to build a custom pan within the size limits, theefore tile could be less expensive. There a epoxy additives for grout that will decrease the amount of maintenence you'll need to do in the future, and a variety of drains for tiled bases, such as linear drains, that can give you flexibility on drain placement without having to "move" the drain. Practicality will depend on your situation and size. Good luck.
Why don't you just list the products that are used in this photo so that people don't have to ask? Like just say what type of tile is used in the bathroom and where to purchase it, or a link to the manufacturers website. I am unable to find the answer to what tile is used on the bathroom wall and would love to know. »

Furniture style doesn't have to be super-ornate. The simple addition of legs that raise the cabinet off the floor transforms a vanity into a piece of furniture.
Bathroom Resolution No. 3: I will kick my heavy-metal habitIf you're updating your bathroom, go frameless. It's a cleaner, crisper look that lets your shower tile be the star.

Tile in shower floor is a nice complement to our gray vanity, plus introducing more earth tones to go with bamboo in bedroom. Note that tile is from International Bath and Tile (location in San Diego).
This stone blend of whites and grays adds subtle pattern to the shower floor and looks great with the black vanity.
Either use gray or do this blend of black and gray.
Do the far right wall gray too?
