knowlesps This is a painted stencil on top of the unfinished oak floor. It is a dark mulberry/plum paint. The Swedish floor finish was then applied on top.

caroleisenberg Ah. Figured that was the case but wanted to doublecheck. They are stunning. I'm about to redesign our kitchen and want to incorporate Mission elements, but on a budget. Sigh. I love every element of this kitchen -- from the floors, to the cabinets to the simple tile above the stove.
