christydag It's a sheet of water on its own pump that turns off thru the whole house control system when the door from the interior of the home is actuated and opened. The room is a wine cellar buried underneath the auto court above. The steel door is faced with a solid black granite slab also actuated by the whole house control system.
kenbrownrealtor You will find another photo of this moat in the 'Landscape' catagory. A comment posted by the Billy Beson company with that photo says...
"This was used around the front half of a house in Colorado. The moat runs between the house and driveway, and a hidden wine cellar (photo also on Houzz, showing a waterfall running over the wine cellar door.....waterfall stops when you step on the stones, so you can enter)."
Rollin Fox, Sleeping Grape Wine Cellars I've always wondered about that - thanks for the info! It is definitely an impressive entrance to the cellar. Wish there was another cellar shot as well... or is there, and I just haven't found it yet?
This moat in a Colorado ski house leads to the wine cellar. The waterfall door stops when you step on the stone so you don't get wet grabbing that bottle of cab. If you ever wanted to feel like Indiana Jones, this is your chance. See more photos of this project
