sweetsy this room is beautiful! I've been searching houzz for Edgecomb gray and this room looks so different! It looks creamy-almost White Dove or slightly creamier. Is it used at full strength or perhaps there's a lot of natural light in the space?? Thanks for your feedback. Paint is terribly hard to figure out! :/

Another great way to display your shells is to use them more as sculptural art. The casual living room here displays shells in a bookshelf that is back painted in a contrasting color, allowing the shells to pop. This can be done using any souvenir. African masks, plates, ancient currency pieces, and many other collectible sculptural pieces would look great in a setting like this and helps set the tone for the space.

Finding the best way to display and edit her clients' collections was an important part of the design, and Williams was careful not to step into shell overload. "The idea of one large shell on each shelf seemed to be the answer and made more of an impact," Williams says. "The darker color on the ceiling and inside the bookcases gives a little drama without overwhelming the room, and the large shells really pop against the dark color."
The living room is a combination of the client's collections, new pieces and antiques. The floor lamps add history and a weathered patina; they were crafted from reclaimed architectural pieces. These lamps, the chairs and the old train-cart coffee table were purchased through South of Market.
