Leading edge. Instead of horizontal bands, try vertical ones on the leading edges of each panel. The yellow ones on these drapes add to the brightness provided by the throw pillows, chair and ottoman.

Create a cohesive theme by peppering different areas of your room with yellow. Start with a neutral base, then layer in yellow via accent chairs, throw pillows and drapes.

Multipurpose decorating is a must when you have a hectic schedule. Purchase reversible drapery panels or get them custom made for an instant decorating fix. Ottomans that double up as storage space help minimize clutter. Find an ottoman with nail-head detailing or take the DIY approach and make one.
For me, the flanges on these curtains are the high point of the space. It would have been easy to leave the yellow accents to the pillows and chairs, but carrying it up the draperies energizes the design.
