More floor questions from a NY hurricane Sandy renovation person - I have already installed new 4" white oak floors and am scared to go too dark yet in this photo the floor reads cheerful and rich looking....will my white oak floor with a dark walnut stain look similar? I used to have 2 1/4" natural oak with a high gloss finish but everyone says to take the plunge and go dark! I'm a nervous wreck and The contractor wants my decision ASAP!!! »
rpa2012 I have a 5 year old house with popcorn ceiling. Removing popcorn is a messy and tedious job for DYI. If I were to cover the ceiling with beaded board right on top of the popcorn, will it cause problems for the finishing, leveling and in the future if it even becomes a moisture trap etc.
How do you install the bead board? Glue on to the Sheetrock?
If I am covering the ceiling with bead board, would it okay to simply scrape off the popcorn to get a flat surface?
Finally, is bead board finish considered as an older style?
