mmonika I cannot say what is used exactly in the photo but metal edging is definitly a possibility. I just performed an exhaustive search on this because its look is clean, modern and edges always crisp, circles or straight runs!

To find: Hit up local landscape suppliers. There was none in my area:-(
Order online (from the above sources)
or if none of those options work ( like they didn't for me) Call some metal shops in your area to have strips sheared for you ( you may need to have the edges grinded more smooth or, if your sinking these, they are good as is).
