kandy smith I don't think these are oval, I think they just look oval due to the angle of the picture.
If you hit the 'more info' below the picture you will see more pics from this house and another one of the lights where they don't appear oval.
Rebekah Zaveloff Great looking kitchen! I would presume the island cabinets are painted maple... Which is often used as a paint grade wood for custom cabinets. And the top is probably walnut butcher block.
Rebekah Zaveloff That's a really good question. I often times start with matching the floors to the rest of the house to create a sense of space and flow..but that said, if you're refinishing all your floors or building new, you can do whatever you want. I try for contrast and consistency...Here you see the contrast of the dark floor and the light tops, but the butcher block color also is consistent with the flooring color. The important thing is to keep everything from being the same exact color and tone. That gets muddy.
Eased and mitered edge. This mitered stone top has a slightly eased edge and rounded corners. As you can see, the smallest change in detail makes the stone look very different.
Love thickness and color of marble countertop. Like cabinet style but not necessarily the pulls; similar to what we have now. Like subway tiles; might consider color if it is subtle.
