Hugh Jefferson Randolph Architects Not certain ... Its been about 6 years... and I will add that in real life it does not appear so pure white. But thank you for your question.
Hugh Jefferson Randolph Architects I do not recall how large the tiles were. They were from a retail display at Neiman Marcus Last Call outlet store. I think they are 16"x16" but onal not certain.
I want to use real ceramic tile on the wall with out the board behind it. I need to know with each separate piece can i a glue the hook to the tile and use ribbon or fish string and hang it up? »
Francine Tessier I work in a hardware store and I'm pretty sure you can simply use epoxy (good quality like PC-7) to attach your D-clip to the back of the tile....make sure you measure the same distance from the top of each tile and perfectly center each clip. Anchor your screws into the wall and hook up your tile! Done like dinner!
Anne DeCocco It depends on the weight of the tile. If it's heavy, I'd think about nailing a backing, like thin plywood, onto the walls (in the studs) and then using tile adhesive to that, then grouting in between. Cut the plywood a bit smaller than the finished piece so that the edges are recessed. Cool project, I just might try this one myself. Wall treatments are my favorites.
Natalie Blake We make ceramic wall art tile and have developed our own hanging system. Basically, we use a wooden backing (glued onto the tile) and a wooden disk (that you attach to the wall). The wooden backing on the tile has a hole cut out of it. The tile hangs on the wooden disk, french cleat style.
