Blossomed Sunflowers - Hand Designed Silk Art, Silk Embroidery

Silk embroidery art was invented in China over 2,500 years ago. This high quality silk art is created using embroidery techniques developed from the world famous Suzhou style of silk embroidery. Each piece contains over 100,000 stitches on average.

Originally an impressionist still life, this painting is recreated in silk thread, carefully stitched to perfectly capture the radiance of the sunflower in full bloom. A symbol of the sun and representing happiness, loyalty and longevity, the sunflower brings warmth to any room and was a favorite still life subject of impressionists such as Van Gogh. Shadows in the background are beautifully captured in a multitude of colors, precisely recreating the original down to each brush stroke.
