Reeds - Hand Designed Silk Art, Silk Embroidery

Silk embroidery art was invented in China over 2,500 years ago. This high quality silk art is created using embroidery techniques developed from the world famous Suzhou style of silk embroidery. Each piece contains over 100,000 stitches on average.

A beautiful color palette of reds, yellows, and oranges, this embroidery brings the warmth of late summer and the simple subject of reeds swaying in the wind. Softly depicted in impressionist style, this piece elegantly captures the light of the sun dancing along the reeds as well as the movement of the stalks. Originally painted in thousands of individual brush strokes, this embroidered piece uses even more stitches to capture the painting, truly highlighting the brilliance of late summer.
