PLEASE!!! - Brian, If by chance you are still on Houzz, PLEASE add additional pictures of this homes' exterior!! I am tempted to present just this picture to my architect and ask him build a house around this! :) »
kristinbflo Hi Brian,
Can you please tell me where to get the knocker and peephole combo. We are in the process of building a home, and I just love that look!!! Also, we are having a tough time finalizing our brick, and would GREATLY appreciate it if you could tell us what brick you used. We are supposed to have our brick finalized this week, so any help would be wonderful!
Thanks!
Thinking of bluestone flooring in our screened porch, but we live in the deep South and I have reservations about the stones getting too hot. What has been your experience? Thanks! »
bulldawgy Yes, it is smoother, cool, and easy to clean. If your porch gets no sun, then bluestone is traditional and beautiful. Our old pool deck was in the random ashlar pattern and was lovely(just like your picture). I think you have to weigh how easy it is to mop on a porch, food and drinks get spilled. How rough is the actual bluestone you are considering using? I think heat will only be increased if the porch gets sun. We had to run across our pool deck barefoot to a shade spot going youch, youch! If your porch is not getting much sun, it would be fine. I would just consider ability to clean easily and beauty. You can pressure wash a pool deck easily, a screened porch, not so easily. Our current screened porch is cola stained concrete with large diagonal cuts and is easy to mop. You could also consider some large porcelain tiles with a stone look. Ah, but nothing really beats the pure beauty of real stone.
bamamom deedeelouise, great question. I hope others will respond as well.
We just redid the deck that is attached to the house, raised, and covered/screened it in. I decided to do an area rug for this winter and have plans to tile it next spring. The sun comes in around 4/4:30, so maybe the tile would not get to hot that late in the day.
I'm deep south as well.
Thanks.
Brick floor - We r remodeling our church and one room we found a brick floor but part of it was unsalvageable so we wanna be able to transition part of the floor into laminate flooring »
Beautiful door! - HI Brian,
I would like to know the manufacturer of the door. We are in the framing stages of our new home and have been searching for a door just like this! Love your work. Thanks for your help. »
Want additional photos of exterior.. - Does anyone know where to find Brian's email? I want to forward my email to him for additional pics, but don't see it listed.. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks, Angela »
A door knocker doesn't have to be flashy. If you want your door knocker to add detail but not be the center of attention, consider a bronze or iron finish. A simple ring knocker will add appeal and function. Coordinate your door hardware and lighting with complementary finishes.
