Dimensions - Hello
I am building a fire pit that will have similar dimensions. Can you please send the measurements here? Seating width, fire area (L x W) and height? Also, how far away is the seating area from the edge? Many thanks »
fire pit - can you tell me if the bottom area is made out of fire retardent brick and the top out of concrete or give me an idea of what it is made up of.
Many thanks »
Patterson Construction Corporation The structure is made from concrete block. The deck is waterproofed, the block is installed, the block is waterproofed, a copper pan is installed, then the slab top is installed.
Patterson Construction Corporation This flooring is 9x18 French Limestone that was laid in a running bond pattern. It has a very unique texture. I think it was called flame cut.
Live Load for Terrace - Very nice job. I am considering building a flat roof with a hot tub like you have in that photo. Question, what was the Design Live Load utilized when designing the structure? (100 psf, 150 psf?) Thanks »
Doug Webb I am a licensed structural engineer actually. That's why I asked the live load you used because I'm doing the same thing for my personal house. I had figured 7.2 kPa (or 150 psf) would be conservative, but was hoping for a second opinion to confirm my calculation is all. They don't really specify this kind of loading in the building code in section 4.
