granite behind range - I would love to do this in my kitchen. Are the granite and tile the same depth? I'm not sure I will be able to get a thinner granite to avoid a "lip or a step" when the tile and granite are flush up against each other. Is there any work around? »
Paul Banchitta Contracting That's a great look for the kitchen .... As for the thickness , I would personally prefer it to be smooth ... The approach with a thinner sheetrock could work . I myself would just have the granite fabricator grind down the thickness of the material and make it exactly what you need.
A Comment Rather Than A Question - I pinned this kitchen to my Houzz portfolio many months ago. I continue to return to look at it. It is a wonderful work of art. At first glance, it is simple - serene - it flows. Then, it becomes rich in details. You are amazingly talented. This is a beautiful room. »
Janet Susmark Andre - I emailed you sometime ago about a kitchen that appeared in a magazine (don't think it was this one, though). Looking again at kitchen designs and there you were! Resonating! I love the alder that gives a touch of honey and the darker floors. And I was thinking that touch of orange. Finally going ahead with a long overdue kitchen remodel.
The couple wanted to continually host a lot of people, so they had a lot of appliance and storage needs. Rothblatt added in square footage to fit two sinks, a range, an oven, two dishwashers, a large refrigerator, a wine refrigerator and a warming drawer. Although the space is quite large, it was still a challenge to decide how to configure all of that into the kitchen layout.
