AFP Interiors LLC Thanks! The desk is a table that's been in my family for decades. It was my grandparents' kitchen table and mine growing up. It's now my desk in my home office. Consider a table for a desk if you like this size of this one. Good luck!
What is the diameter of the drapery rods and what brand are they? - I've had an awful time trying to locate metal "modern" nickel or stainless steel drapery rods larger than 1 inch diameter...even through my decorator. I prefer this look over the traditional wood rods. Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks. »
amyeri You can also try

They sell rods that are 1-3/16" dia.in a stainless steel and also a chrome/metal rod. These draperies appear to be custom made.

Does anyone know what would be a lighter shade for Wheeling Neutral HC-92 by Benjamin Moore? - I love the concept of using a lighter shade and I want to achieve a similar look for my bedroom. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance! »
JWinteriors Anytime you want to go lighter or darker, just tell the store to make the color at 50%..or 150%. This way you get your perfect hue and your perfect shade.
AFP Interiors LLC Thanks for your question. I love this rug too! It's from Classic Interiors in Ellicott City, MD and it's a Rizzy Rug, Swing, it's a blended wool rug, so it's rough underfoot, but durable.
foreverhouse See that white line under the table in the corner coming out from the table? I think it's fabric covered cord..not sure..because it looks like a table leg but that's the only thing I see that could be it..
AFP Interiors LLC Thank you for your question. I "removed" the cord in Photoshop for the photo. In the room the cord was not plugged in, but taped up under the table. Because this was a show house room, the light did not need to function. In a home, this lamp would not be possible without a few rug tricks.
nlolac i actually have this print in a shower curtain -- m. styles gloria shower curtain in purple. got it at homegoods for $16.99. also available on amazon. may be able to repurpose into a shorter curtain for a cheaper price.

Hanging sheers with these drapes - My drapes are hung the same as in this pic. I also have sheers which I have hung from top of the window rather than the height of the ceiling. Is this a faux pas? »
Colorful window treatments can also lighten the mood in a space. Here, curtains covered with pretty purple flowers bring a burst of cheer to the space.
This would make a beautiful living room to see as soon as you walk into a home. A desk floated on a cool printed rug becomes the main attraction. The rest of the space is dressed up in purple and blue, keeping if from looking office-y.
Add bold drapery. If you lean toward spaces painted in neutral hues, this graphic drapery adds just the right amount of punch to a room used for creative purposes.
Nothing about this room says "office," but look closer, and you'll see how cleverly it's arranged. The worktable, lamp and chair blend seamlessly with the refined trappings, while guests or clients can have a seat in the cushioned chair opposite. If your home is tight on space, you could take this approach in a living area also.
In transitional design, play with the scale of the pattern for a huge impact. In this room, a geometric design on the area rug is paired with an over-scale floral fabric used for the drapery. While this room feels borderline traditional, the fabric pattern and shape of the occasional chair keep it from being too serious.
