Was this an expansion? I have a delemma with my expansion project. I have a couple of trees that are Heritage trees and are in the way of the design project, will the city let me cut them down if I plant more trees on my property?

Many projects we take on in the Austin city limits have trees that we want to preserve. I would have your Architect or Contractor contact an Arborist to review the trees on your property. Once you have that report in hand you can have a more informed conversation

the original architect’s 1927 design. The organizing feature was, and continues to be, the grand “gallery” space in the center of the unit. Every room in the apartment can be accessed via the gallery, thus preserving it as the centerpiece of the “charm and dignity” which the original design intended.

Sorry, I cannot share interior photos per the owners' request. The house was designed by award-winning architect and author, Sarah Susanka, who has written the 'Not So Big House' book series. The builder was John Steel of Stowe, Vermont.
