We are about to pour a concrete patio and would like to use some bluestone as accent. What color is the concrete here? I'd like to make sure there is some contrast between the concrete and bluestone.

We needed a bridge to cross the dry creek bed, so I designed a version of a Japanese yatsuhashi, or zig zag, bridge. It is clad in concrete backer board. I wanted to simulate a granite mountain plateau with a boulder peak. The client

out of concrete and I had them made. They built the forms, then placed foam in the middle to take up space so they wouldn't be too heavy. Although, they were still really heavy and it took 3 guys to move them into place!

is that expensive- to do those concrete beds? could you give me an idea of how much one of that size would cost materials and labor to create? Many thanks- it's such a cool way to border a deck especially if you want an herb garden close to your house
