I'd like to know where you found this floating credenza? I see them a lot in design magazine, but can't see to find them in stores/on-line for sale. Where does one look? I'm looking for a floating credenza for the dining-room AND a floating nightstand
You can hang just about anything as long as you have the right support for your cabinet and wall structure. There is quite a bit out there in the blog world on floating IKEA cabinets (to which this fine cabinetry must not be compared). Here are a couple of floating vanities that were built in Bill's
The floating element of the credenza adds a modern touch to the antique Arts and Crafts style seen in this home. It's quite unexpected and a delightful break from the seriousness of the overall room.

Hello, I am looking for an architect who can re-create a similar design for me. Where can I see this in the Bay Are where I live? Thanks, Aiko
Aiko, This interior was created as a guest house for a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Oak Park, Illinois. I serve the Chicago area, but would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks for
Hello. This seating area was designed and built for this interior. It consists of an 18" high platform with a 3' x 3' well to accomodate the seating area. I serve the greater Chicagoland area, and would be

Sorry, I cannot share interior photos per the owners' request. The house was designed by award-winning architect and author, Sarah Susanka, who has written the 'Not So Big House' book series. The builder was John Steel of Stowe, Vermont.

Hi Nora, thanks for taking the time to identify all of the beautiful colors in your design. Fantastic job!! I do have some questions: 1) what color was used for all the trim 2) in all of the rooms you used an inside mount for the shades;
shades; why did you decide to use an outside mount for this room, and finally 3) where were the blinds purchased? Thanks--and bravo on your amazing design!!
It's really more of a bench, but I like your idea of using it as a table. It was purchased at a store called Jayson Home. They have many one of a kind and vintage pieces, so I don't think it's something you could buy or order now...however if you have a skilled carpenter
The bench was purchased @ Jayson Home in Chicago

Interiors can be designed to have motion and variability, but so can spaces that are visible through windows in the house, like this Japanese rock garden
Zen earth tones. If a peaceful feeling is what you crave at home, you may be drawn to white interiors — but stark white can feel too clinical. Rich, warm earth tones create the same serene vibe but in a more interesting way than white

this aesthetic should be recognized through the use of a design palette which will guide the senses, rather than distract them, toward the practical uses of a room.
Poufs are perfect in a traditional setting, like this beatufiul Japanese Home

During a tea ceremony, guests are usually seated on cushions or a tatami mat in an otherwise stark room. Design elements like tables and artwork are oriented at a much lower height and accented with little more than sliding, shoji screen partitions and views of an outdoor garden or courtyard.
