it's necessary to oversize the hood fan to create a pleasing proportion between the range and hood fan. But for a boxier unit like this, it's totally appropriate to select the same width for range and fan.

Japanese Inspired Remodel in Noe Valley-Kitchen
What kind of hinges are used in cabinet doors adjacent to hood, so that they don't bump the metal corners? My new kitchen has this problem because hinges open just past 90 degrees. I'm wondering if you've prevented this from happening. I have new IKEA Adel kitchen. Thank you
Was there a reason besides wanting to change up the material? I would like to use the painted glass behind my hood. This is a dream kitchen!
No. We went with stainless steel behind the hood.
here as well. The hinges are probably Blum European style or something similar. With regard to bumping into the hood, I think we attached clear plastic bumpers to the sides of the hood. Also, my clients are careful. ;-) - Mark.

Empty Nesters Asian Kitchen

ones company, creating, and entering with friends. The appliance wish list was long, double ovens, microwave, a low profile hood, 36” cooktop and a built in refrigerator. The kitchen had to have continuos counters and frame out the views to the outside pond, teahouse and extensive gardens. A tall order
time to have the kitchen of their dreams. But I had to stick to tight guidelines, it was not an open check book, they did not want to change the footprint of their existing kitchen. They wanted high quality millwork, a great design, and high performing appliances. They wanted their kitchen to reflect a
Asian style that was organic, beautiful and most of all functional. The kitchen needed to feel warm and inviting when they came home when it was just the two of them, but also be a true entertaining kitchen. The new kitchen needed to be designed so that both could be prepping and cooking together
