This archway is the perfect addition to any garden if you wish for a more Japanese feel. The rocks lining the manicured grass is also quite reminiscent of Japanese design.

What type of ornamental grass is surrounding the middle tree? (the smaller round balls of grass) Thank you!
blue fescue and mondo grass? gorgeous.
love the silver grass and lushness
fescue breaks up a lake of green, adding interest with its puffy little mounds of stiff grasses.
Note: If you mass blue fescue, be sure to place the plants close together (10 inches or so); it is not a clumping grass and will not fill in.

Black mondo grass and Japanese maple. I like the black stones too, and those nice rocks. The grass surround on the other two sides adds a nice softness.
soils with medium moisture. As a slow-growing and non-spreading perennial grass, it may take longer for beds to fill out than with other mondo grass varieties.
