The solid stone "moon gate" is the primary entry to the garden. It frames the pagoda style pavilion and the "good karma" boulder. Our masons hand chiseled each stone on site and set the stone against a wooden arched form to ensure consistency of the arc.
It's about 6'8" from the ground to the bottom of the stone overhead. The moongate walls are about 18 inches thick, so the total height is about 8'2"

Is the stone border of the driveway on a concrete footing and mortared? What material is under the gravel?
Would like the same manicured-looking stone border, but have over 500 ft to cover. Less expensive alternatives? Thank you.
How tall is the stone edging (roughly)
Where do I get the details on the gate? It would be perfect for our house.
Sure, colored, textured concrete. Out here in Santa Barbara, there are lots of contractors who make concrete look like stone. Google, colored textured concrete, simulated stone, sand finish concrete, etc. CM
Hi Charles. What are the details for the footer for the stone border? Is it a flat footer? I have a homeowner that is interested in doing this.
A little heavy but nice gate

Can you please tell me what type of stones were used in this walkway? Thank you!
What color is the stain on the gate?
Cool, thanks. I am building a small courtyard and thinking of using a sliding gate to save room.
Nope, just a regular swinging gate. I'm working on a project now with split sliding gates that hide into a wall, which will be really cool.
I like the privacy of this gate
