Even light fixtures can make a difference when it comes to acoustics. Wiener suggests using fabric shades instead of glass or metal fixtures.
February 24 in 2013. It's a great time to focus on movies. This is a gathering my kids love. This works great if you have a media room or just a big-screen TV. Make tickets and collect them at the door when the kids arrive.

I've been trying to find a shade for a similar size window. 23x23. Can you tell me where you found this shade?
Are those customized Window shades or?
Yes, this was a custom inside mount flat roman shade with room darkening liner.
I love how you use paintings in your designs....awesome!
Thank you for the shared design tips & photos! Love this look
have a room used solely for lounging and watching TV, a setup like this is perfect. A sectional facing a a screen with ample space to put up your feet is the family-room equivalent of a screening room. The dark wall and ceiling create more contrast so images are crisp and clean, and the low-positioned
den that everyone in the house can equally enjoy. Design justice for all!

535 sq. ft. (of course there are other rooms you can't see here). From the right wall in the photo to the back wall of the bar is 20'-6". From the screen in the media room to the opposite end (behind us in the photo) the measurement is 43'. Hope this helps! -Emily
question! The back bar in this basement is 9' long. The clients purchased this TV themselves so we don't have a record of the exact size, but a 37" (screen size) TV would fit the 36" wall space snugly. -Emily

half the maximum viewing distance as the screen size (diagonally). So if the viewing distance is, say, 8’, a screen size of 48” would work. (Of course, being a guy I tend to err on the larger size, so I’d go with a 56” set.) 4. Comfortable seating. Not the designer “oh-my-this-chintz-fabric-is-to-die-for”
