I have the same intention in regards to the ceiling but I'm concern about the building code here in Chicago. I have a two flat and the first floor is duplex down with the basement and I assume the code calls for a fire rated

CEILING TILES LOOK UPSCALED and not cheap!! Upgrade?? Dad and I have already looked at these. To do our basement, we're looking at about $5k, just for a new ceiling. Hmmm...I'd rather put that money somewhere else.
