Brilliant idea to hide a furnace, check this off as a must have for my basement.
The pivot hinges are a great way to achieve this but the one linked above is rated only to 150 lbs. For a higher capacity, you might want to look into the TECTUS hinges which can carry up to 660 lbs

don't have a system in place to deal with the water, choose a flooring material that can handle getting wet, such as the tile shown in this basement. If you don't have a floor drain, get one installed. It's best to get a drain that ties into the storm drain directly or that drains into a pit with a sump pump
I love the stone on that wall. What type of stone is that one and what color?? We are building a house and I have to decide the stone and the color asap. Thanks!

creating a bar in the basement was a must-have for the Schneiders. "Our bigger family gatherings often average 25 people and some additional friends", explains Gayle. "We've also hosted gatherings upwards of 50+ people for ourselves, and have lent our home to others for bigger gatherings." Fresh flowers

loft - a caramel & a lighter khaki tan. The paint system/technique is Wagner's Wall Magic. I used to get their supplies @ Sherwin Williams, but my local SW no longer carries their supplies - maybe Lowes or Home Depot would?. I've attached a couple links that might get you started. One is actual supplies

We used 8/4 poplar for the rail and stile. Biscuit joined corners. The T&G panel sets into a dado in the rail and stile. The hardware is a ball catch.

working on a playhouse under our basement stairs and this is what I had in mind.
This is a super cool idea for a basement redo that gives a kid their own private "house" inside the house.
