What material was used for the ceiling?
What material did you use for the support columns?
We used a Fry Reglet acoustical wall panel (pattern B) and fastened it with exposed stainless steel screws and trim washers. It comes about 3 feet wide and lengths up to 12 feet. It is aluminum so heating ducts will not be an issue. www.fryreglet.com

The walls and ceilings were actually venetian plaster, so there is no actual color. Thanks! When using normal paint, our painters typically use Benjamin Moore or Sherwin Williams.

up a lot of room with bulky heaters. To answer your question, you should expect to loose anywhere between 1/2" to 1 1/4" depending on the material used. Please remember that you need 7'-0" ceiling heights in most jurisdictions for habitable space. Thanks for your inquiry.
Open ceiling and nice flooring. Good use of posts for storage
space where they could all spend time together playing, watching TV and using a home office. It also gave them a chance to break away from the colonial decor used throughout the rest of the house and enjoy another style they admired: Scandinavian modern.

Did you use the acoustical wall system with the 2" sound deadening material behind and z channel for the ceiling. What was the result. Beautiful work!
We did not use the 2" acoustical panel & Z channel. This space had VERY low ceiling heights to begin with and we did not want to make them any lower than necessary
Clever! Fake structural columns created to match real ones. They use the same Rustoleum hammered paint (in silver) we use. Note this is a different view of the previously saved (same) room by this terrific design group.
