I've been told to expect problems with condensation if I paint my central air ducts. Have you or anyone else experienced this?
ductwork if humidity levels are too high in basement. For instance, last summer I opened my basement windows to introduce some fresh air which unbeknownst to be was humid air and in turn produced condensation on the cold duct work. I hope that helps.
maybe we won't have to make it into something that we can't do. Our ceiling height is a little less than 7 ft so keeping the rafters that we painted white years ago will have to remain. There is a lot of great ideas here for use to utilize. Thanks
walls, but stone with parging (similar). I have heard to use milk paint to allow the walls to "breathe", but see that you used a waterproofing sealer (white?). Also, we have a coat of old pealing latex paint. Do you think we should remove all of that or can we just work overtop?

Does this house have radiant heat instead of forced air? And, if radiant, are the basement floors heated?
Amazing basement renovation! I'm looking for a high quality, bright white track light system that won't yellow with age...
This house has forced air heating and cooling. Radiant heat is a great upgrade if your budget allows it. Thanks.

upstairs -- presumably due largely to the current drop ceiling. If we remove the ceiling tile, I'm concerned about how much noise will penetrate to the kitchen and family room upstairs. Since we've been living here almost 20 years, adding a sound attenuation mat is not an option and the floors are largely

How to whitewash oak kitchen cabinets
I am considering whitewashing my flat panel kitchen cabinets. Are there photos and instructions available?
The basement is heated and cooled with a forced air system. Thanks,
water pipes and some wires. But, on the whole, we did not conceal the wires. We only minimized the wires and made them more tidy before painting all white. Track lighting between the joists makes the new lighting unobtrusive.

Need help for my small family room/ open to my large kitchen.
The space is a modern open kitchen/family room with high ceilings and a fire place at the far wall in the family room. Walls are cream color and I would like a warm
what kind of paint did you use, did you just spray it before you got into anything else? does the paint hold up to the hot metal air ducts?
I have been in basements with white painted structure and black and have found that the black actually gives the perception of added height because it recedes and creates more depth above. A white painted ceiling tends to pull it towards you compacting the space.
imagined. I have been in basements that have exposed structure painted white and it seem like the ceiling is lower because it doesn't recede like the black paint. It also seems to look dirty. The walls were intentionally bright white to counteract the dark ceiling and lack of natural light. The floor
