To eastgate415: any luck discovering how to install lights an mirror?
We are creating a similar style in our new bathroom. We bought special lighting to go under the mirror not the cheap rope lighting because that needs a plug that you'd see. We are planning to glue plywood
You could add a lighting strip behind a standard mirror to create the back lit effect.. http://www.hafele.com/us/products/accent-LED-lighting-ideas.asp
Feature: Add a Hafele LED lighting strip behind a standard mirror to create the back lit effect.

Does anyone know where I can purchase these lights?
Who makes the mirror sconces? Do they put out enough light?
Is the under cabinet lights on a separate switch?
provide a sufficient amount of light. Here's a couple to consider: http://www.thelightshop.com/AQUA-4LT-BATH-p/b1909sg.htm Let us know what ya think!
no, one has graining the other does not (led florecent tubes would get rid of the spotlight effect for under cabinet lights.
Love the lights under the zink.
For all those tweezers, shavers and makeup appliers out there, overhead lighting in the bathroom is just not enough. Avoid the unflattering shadows they create by installing lights on the side of your mirror.
