Bear in mind that as a real Ofuro made from Hinoki wood, you should only wash OUTSIDE of it (as they do in Japan) ... if you get inside and use soap products or oils it will damage the wood long-term..

Hi, the bathtub is beautiful! What is it made out of? And how is the wood durable in a bathroom with water?
blessed. As usual, their work is exceptional. If you like these wooden tubs, you should do a search for "Hinoki Wood" which is commonly used in Japan for their Onsens. It's a fabulous type of wood that could last a life time. It is expensive thought.
that is a Duravit fixture. I can't comment on these specific materials, but all our fixtures and finishes are carefully selected and there are many wood products on the market specifically designed and treated to be used in wet environments.
