Since we are not involved in any of the interior finish of the home kits that we supply, I can't say much about a customer's choice of paneling or trim and how he/she would treat it.

Hi, I have an historic lake home with all exposed (uninsulated) wood walls
Notice that not all of the trim is painted a contrasting color.
Historic people don't love painted wood. Personally this is not really an issue. It is all personal preference, if you think you have to re-sell to a historic buyer in 5-10 years you may want to refrain...
