We wanted this bathroom interior to be chic, sophisticated, and unique! Gorgeous Mexican tiled flooring paired with a black-framed French shower stall set the tone for this "globally infused" interior. A dark stained barn door is the grand entrance for this gorgeous remodel featuring Wellborn Cabinets, quartz countertops,and 12" x 24" porcelain tile. While beautiful, the real main attraction is the zero threshold spacious walk-in shower covered in Chicago Brick Southside porcelain tile.

Our client requested a design that reflected their need to renovate their dated bathroom into a transitional floor plan that would provide accessibility and function. The new shower design consists of a pony wall with a glass enclosure that has beautiful details of brushed nickel square glass clamps. The interior shower fittings entail geometric lines that lend a contemporary finish. A curbless shower and linear drain added an extra dimension of accessibility to the plan. In addition, a balance bar above the accessory niche was affixed to the wall for extra stability. The shower area also includes a folding teak wood bench seat that also adds to the comfort of the bathroom as well as to the accessibility factors. Improved lighting was created with LED Damp-location rated recessed lighting. LED sconces were also used to flank the Robern medicine cabinet which created realistic and flattering light. Large transitional master white tile mosaic tile floor and multicolored floor bathroom photo in Charlotte with a hinged shower door and beige walls

This tile accent wall was created using large format, stacked stone, tile and tobacco sticks. The dimensions of the tile and existing wall presented a challenge. Two tiles would cover all but 3" of the wall width. Rather than fill in with such a small piece of tile we decided to frame each side with a 1-1/2" width of wood it wood. The wood also needed to be 3/8" thick to match the thickness of the tile. You won't find those dimensions at a lumber yard, so we visited our local source for reclaimed materials. They had tobacco sticks which come in the odd sizes we wanted. The aged finish of the tobacco sticks was the perfect compliment to the vanity and the Industrial style light fixture. Sometimes the solution to a functional design dilemma also delivers extraordinary aesthetic results. The lighting in this bath is carefully layered. Recessed ceiling lights and the vanity mirror with LED backlighting are controlled by dimmer switches. The vanity light is fitted with Edison style bulbs which shed a warmer, softer level of light.

The homeowners had just purchased this home in El Segundo and they had remodeled the kitchen and one of the bathrooms on their own. However, they had more work to do. They felt that the rest of the project was too big and complex to tackle on their own and so they retained us to take over where they left off. The main focus of the project was to create a master suite and take advantage of the rather large backyard as an extension of their home. They were looking to create a more fluid indoor outdoor space. When adding the new master suite leaving the ceilings vaulted along with French doors give the space a feeling of openness. The window seat was originally designed as an architectural feature for the exterior but turned out to be a benefit to the interior! They wanted a spa feel for their master bathroom utilizing organic finishes. Since the plan is that this will be their forever home a curbless shower was an important feature to them. The glass barn door on the shower makes the space feel larger and allows for the travertine shower tile to show through. Floating shelves and vanity allow the space to feel larger while the natural tones of the porcelain tile floor are calming. The his and hers vessel sinks make the space functional for two people to use it at once. The walk-in closet is open while the master bathroom has a white pocket door for privacy. Since a new master suite was added to the home we converted the existing master bedroom into a family room. Adding French Doors to the family room opened up the floorplan to the outdoors while increasing the amount of natural light in this room. The closet that was previously in the bedroom was converted to built in cabinetry and floating shelves in the family room. The French doors in the master suite and family room now both open to the same deck space. The homes new open floor plan called for a kitchen island to bring the kitchen and dining / great room together. The island is a 3” countertop vs the standard inch and a half. This design feature gives the island a chunky look. It was important that the island look like it was always a part of the kitchen. Lastly, we added a skylight in the corner of the kitchen as it felt dark once we closed off the side door that was there previously. Repurposing rooms and opening the floor plan led to creating a laundry closet out of an old coat closet (and borrowing a small space from the new family room). The floors become an integral part of tying together an open floor plan like this. The home still had original oak floors and the homeowners wanted to maintain that character. We laced in new planks and refinished it all to bring the project together. To add curb appeal we removed the carport which was blocking a lot of natural light from the outside of the house. We also re-stuccoed the home and added exterior trim.

A small dated bathroom becomes accessible and beautiful. the tub was removed and a Bestbath shower put in it's place. A single bowl smaller vanity replace the old double vanity giving the space more room. The curbless shower meets a vinyl plank floor.

A fun and colorful bathroom with plenty of space. The blue stained vanity shows the variation in color as the wood grain pattern peeks through. Marble countertop with soft and subtle veining combined with textured glass sconces wrapped in metal is the right balance of soft and rustic.

We created this beautiful accessible bathroom in Carlsbad to give our client a more functional space. We designed this unique bath, specific to the client's specifications to make it more wheel chair accessible. Features such as the roll in shower, roll up vanity and the ability to use her chair for flexibility over the fixed wall mounted seat allow her to be more independent in this bathroom. Safety was another significant factor for the room. We added support bars in all areas and with maximum flexibility to allow the client to perform all bathing functions independently, and all were positioned after carefully recreating her movements. We met the objectives of functionality and safety without compromising beauty in this aging in place bathroom. Travertine-look porcelain tile was used in a large format on the shower walls to minimize grout lines and maximize ease of maintenance. A crema marfil marble mosaic in an elongated hex pattern was used in the shower room for it’s beauty and flexibility in sloped shower. A custom cabinet was made to the height ideal for our client’s use of the sink and a protective panel placed over the pea trap.

The existing tub and shower in this master bathroom were removed to create more space for a curbless, walk in shower. 4" x 8" brick style tile on the shower walls, and pebble tile on the shower floor bring in the warm earth tones the clients desired. The original master bathroom in this 1980’s home was small, cramped and dated. It was divided into two compartments that also included a linen closet. The goal was to reconfigure the space to create a larger, single compartment space that exudes a calming, natural and contemporary style. The bathroom was remodeled into a larger, single compartment space using earth tones and soft textures to create a simple, yet sleek look. A continuous shallow shelf above the vanity provides a space for soft ambient down lighting. Large format wall tiles with a grass cloth pattern complement red grass cloth wall coverings. Both balance the horizontal grain of the white oak cabinetry. The small bath offers a spa-like setting, with a Scandinavian style white oak drying platform alongside the shower, inset into limestone with a white oak bench. The shower features a full custom glass surround with built-in niches and a cantilevered limestone bench. The spa-like styling was carried over to the bathroom door when the original 6 panel door was refaced with horizontal white oak paneling on the bathroom side, while the bedroom side was maintained as a 6 panel door to match existing doors in the hallway outside. The room features White oak trim with a clear finish.
