informed by the shape of the bathtub, a prized selection by the client, the mezzanine wall curves around it, and in a perspectival illusion, curved down to create a rain shower ceiling, with cove lighting, and custom stone mosaic set flush into the waterproof plaster wall-recalling the iconic tile mosaics in the nyc subway. an existing sprinkler main and shut off valve, rather than hidden, is celebrated as part of the composition amongst its fellow plumbing fixtures. ten foot long porcelain tiles are used on the floor to minimize grout joints.

The master bath had three in-swinging doors in a very small space and was dark. We eliminated two of the doors, opened up the space, and replaced all the finishes with simple and bright finishes to create a larger inviting space.

The guest bathroom has porcelain wall tile with a feature detail that is a marble chevron mosaic, which accentuates the shower window we had to work around. The custom cabinetry design and 2.5" mitered edge quartz counter tops make this bathroom something special.

This 1920’s house was updated top to bottom to accommodate a growing family. Modern touches of glass partitions and sleek cabinetry provide a sensitive contrast to the existing divided light windows and traditional moldings. To create enough room to add a dual vanity, Blackline integrated an adjacent closet and borrowed some square footage from an existing closet to the space. The new modern vanity includes stained walnut flat panel cabinets and is topped with white Quartz and matte black fixtures.

The 3x6 white subway tiles continue out the frameless shower glass door and surround the room. The shower features a brushed nickel fixtures with fixed and handheld shower heads. Hexagon floor tile is a throwback to the early 1900s when the house was built. Marc Golub
