If you have a lot of experience I would go for it! I highly recommend producing some sample boards so you can work out your palette. The actual level of detail that was produced on these walls is not very evident. The final coat was waxed and produced a real luxurious feel. Have fun!

Those are custom made teak "pallets" that are removable. They're set to be level with the finished floor. The shower pan itself is dropped about 6" below the tiled floor.
