Hi quebekoise - there are several styles of guides that can be used on the bottom of doors like these. Our hardware that is similar to this comes in a kit that has two different styles of guides on the bottom (pictured below). There are many reasons for these guides. One is as Prime 1 Builders said

Thinking about black beadboard on wall to chair rail, carrara subway 3x6 above to ceiling. I don't see any bathrooms with this "reverse" style. Bad idea?
Check for a Dal-Tile warehouse in your area -- you can save substantially going there and purchasing tile. We got listello in 2010 that was $9 each in the tile showroom for $2.50 each at the warehouse. Same exact tile with a bronze detail.

where did you get the shutters in this room and the master bedroom? love the style!
fixed costs. They expect orders of 200 crates/pallets at a time, each month. So we have huge volumes shipping to us every month. We have limited warehouse space and have to ship it out as quick as it comes in. It is a unique business strategy. We have to cut our costs down to practically nothing.
