Can the lava rock wall handle the constant water from a shower?
Can you tell me more about the chandelier light fixture?
or purachase Lava rocks . Great Design
I've had walls of solid lava. Such as behind woodstoves, etc. I hate it. It's like having a black hole in the room which sucks all the light into it. In the last house we had lava rock, I took cement patch
improvement. I then took an acrylic wash and turned the grout from gray to tan. After having lived with it, I would never use lava rock for anything but as retaining walls in the garden. Period. But that's just me. .. In a shower I would never install a rough surface; I don't want to give mold ANY place to grow

By using trowels, paint brushes, sponges and acrylic paint along with the cement coloring, I turned the wall into some

Hide the light source. Lighting a space from an unseen vantage point does two things: It emphasizes architectural form or structure, and it adds mystery and depth, especially to small spaces. Consider a skylight, solar tube or clerestory window to achieve this effect.

I like the look of "hiding the light source"
encompass the source of light outside. It’s a powerful effect.

Master Bath and Garden
The Master Bath opens to a lush tropical garden. A coper soaking tub is the central visual feature and also a great place to relax and enjoy the sweet Hawaiian breeze. Photo: Mary E. Nichols

Feeling as if you are bathing in the garden
A copper tub sits on black ili ili stones, which conceal a drain, so the need for an overflow valve is obsolete. The master garden and lava wall add jaw-dropping views and privacy. Unfortunately, Saint Dizier says, no one really uses tubs like these; everyone uses the outdoor shower
SM Master Bath
Asian/Contemporary master bath with a "Zen" feel. River rocks line the shower floor and textured tile with glass accents create a tranquil feeling.

The floors throughout the house are concrete with a light acid etch finish and integrated radiant heating.
solar tubes for natural light, stone walls and floors for geo thermal.... stamped vertical concrete?
We Love the walls and the floor, the slight asian influence, we wouldn't have the moss garden.
Rocks and Zen Moss feature, the stone on the walls.
A moss garden enriches the main bathroom. Marie wanted the space to be like a grotto, but Gladwish went for a not-too-literal interpretation with slate tiles. The countertop and the bath and shower ledge are actually bulletproof glass that Gladwish salvaged from a bank. He kept the glass for years before

Using rocks as trim? maybe a feature
