Also, I've used 1/2" tempered glass, frosted with a small grid design, as a ceiling in a 5'0"x5'0" steam shower to keep the steam unit size reasonable (price/physical size). The shower height was 8'0" in a 10'0" room. Glass ceiling was laid on a 6" support around the edges, tile inside”
“inside the shower covered this support so the support was not seen from below. Building inspector coded it like a shower door with 1/2" tempered glass. The glass ceiling allowed me to light it with spots on the 10'0" ceiling for light. The inspector required wet area lights still, however, they aren't needed”
