scraped 6" planks of hardwood. I can't recall the type of wood, but it was an ebony finish.
The entire tile wall feature was built out 18" from the existing wall. The wood paneling behind the tv and the tv bracket were mounted directly
particular television, but I think you would probably need to have a millworker build something like that for you. In this installation we used the extra wood from the flooring to line the tv cabinet!

Does having the TV above the fireplace not affect the TV in any way.We are wanting to use a gas fire.

Light that fire. More exciting television screen picks abound. I often turn on all the lights in my bedroom and enjoy ski racing from my bed, don't you? Anyway, the blazing fire adds to the ambiance, and closing the shades here keeps the view outside

What type of reclaimed wood was used?
It is a reclaimed barnwood headboard. Custom made using reused wood from three local barns.

What are the dimension of the fire place
from the shadow on the wall that the outer surround has a little depth, and creating that depth is where the challenge is. These are all manufactured wood burning fireplaces:
Liking the Tiffany Blue color with the oak woods. We can play it up with accessories and cut pop of color chair with but art work to make it more kid friendly.
This fireplace is gorgeous. Could this look right even though our chimney needs to jut out? And have a thick wood railroad tie sized mantle above it but with space/painted wall between marble fireplace and mantel?
This simple block adds a slightly rougher element to the room and plays off the bed's wood.
