Grand Victorian
I'm in Boston and wonder where you got the nice handmade-looking tile.
I would like a bi-level island.
I like the cut out into the dining room here.
neat sit at kitchen counter with wainscoting
Basic simple backsplash..better than the brick shaped tiles I think.

Attention to details
What is the top wall color? I love it.
Is there a correct wainscot height?
Love the wainscoting! Can you buy this premade? or is it custom
Gorgeous! Could you please tell me the height of the wainscoting?
Beautiful! Please tell me height of wainscotting and size of panels. Do you have in dining room? More pictures
It depends. Any where from 36 to 72" depending on the style of the room or the function. I've seen 5'-6' high wainscotting in craftsman or prairie style houses.
Great question! Traditionally, wainscoting is 30-36 inches high.
questions, you'll see the answer. I hope this helps. Mandy
The wainscot was custom designed by us and
when my children were small, I would wipe down the walls regularly, but they became a bit dull after awhile I would find. So, to keep them fresh I would just give those areas, not the whole wall, a quick roll over with paint. Now if that is just too much maintenance, I would suggest a darker shade of

Entrance Hall
I used a bright wallpaper, from Scalamandre, and high gloss paint for this entrance hall. I wanted to create a bright, reflective look to make use of the natural daylight. Antique carpets worked really well with the client's art collection. I kept the stairs uncarpeted to give the hall a more formal
the same. I want to change the staircase I was thinking of painting the risers white, leave the step part wood and painting the handrail black. Is that what you have done here?

look of my entrance hall. I love the look of this one and it's very similar to the way mine is. Just that it is blue instead of yellow, which I like & are planning to keep. My dilemma is what to do with the floor??? Right now I have carpet on the steps and the floor...should I just replace the carpet

Master bath
How high is the wainscoting from the floor to the top?
I am curious as to what is on the other wall. We have a small master bath in our craftsman home, where a sleeping porch was converted to bath and closet. It's a 1970s remodel and we are dying to tear it out and redo. It looks as if this is a small one too, and I am curious about the layout
Wainscot here is 36" high on an 8' high wall. Avoid anything close to half the wall height.
I like the bottom bead board and the bright yellow
I like the bead board, the yellow color, the glass towel rods, the medicine cabinet, the mirror and the trim outside the bath which is like what we will have.
Love the pedestal sink and the bright colored walls, I want the walls in our powder room to have a fun and funky

Transitional Westchester Cottage
The custom wainscoting continues in this space, too. “Any project I do, I try to stick with the character of the house and the area,” Becker says. “The prefab design was a cottage-y style house

bathroom, for example, with the supermodern bathtub, the wainscoting helps connect it to the cottage-y feel to keep the transitional look going.” The slate floors have radiant heat.

Bluff Plantation
I like the horizontal wainscoting. Is it custom?
May I please use this photo in a blog post?
I'd give you photo credit and include a link back to this page (or any other page you'd prefer I link to instead)
This is exactly the color I've been searching for!
Thank you so much! I added it to this post:
Ah, I see. Bluff Plantation is the name of the architect's project, not the paint color. Our color expert Kerrie Kelly recommends trying Sherwin Williams' Dill, SW6438.
No, sorry. I'm wanting to know who makes the paint....Ralph Lauren? Benjamin
tendency for colors to advance stops and they begin to recede. By recede I mean that cool colors expand a room or a space. This bathroom feels more expansive with a green wall than it would with an equally saturated red.
