How much floor space is in between the island and the hanging space? We are building and I have a similar island in my closet but it looks cramped.

can you tell me the dimensions of closet? how much space between the island and hanging clothes, and what is the size of the island? This is my favorite closet
don't think so. I think standard shelving would be around 18" and hanging items take up at least 2 feet, so you'd be leaving yourself 6" to 12" of space to walk in the middle. I'd say minimum 6' wide for a walk in closet with stuff on either side.
