I prefer a lacquer finish, which allows for the grain to show through for a nice subtle texture.
I did design this bed and have it custom made. It is actually finished in Rift Oak veneer and then lacquered in white for a subtle linear surface texture. The headboard is upholstered in white leather, and the sconces were attached to the headboard, and integrated in to the design. Thanks again!
