Plants do not have to be the focus of this style. Planes or strong blocks of color can be composed of many materials, in this case poured concrete. The gravel borders serve the same purpose as the black lines in a Mondrian

completely gutted by a fire. We completely changed the layout of rooms. This photo shows the master bathroom and shower. The clerestory windows are high to block views to and from the neighbors but allow a stream of light in all day. This project has been featured in Dwell and the San Francisco Chronicle. Photo

from sunny Tucson, Az. Thank you for this opportunity to ask questions. I would appreciate your help please. I have a one-story terra cotta slump block home with paneling along garage (north facing) and under eaves. I want to TRY to beautify our home exterior and am thinking of complimenting with gold-tones
facia that is partially hiding the wood trim? I am also thinking of adding wood trim around the two front windows to bring more color to the slump block walls. Also, what color for our front door and metal bar door that is about six feet from front door? Thank you for your site and for your pending advice
