How is this type of base moulding installed? We have drywall. Thanks.
The "flush base" molding was installed first and the drywall second. The drywall comes right down to the flush base, which was painted a contrasting color to the rest of the wall.

This room had no closets or architectural details. We installed Ikea PAX cabinets on either side of the window and framed them in with drywall to make them look built in. There is a radiator beneath the window which we hid with the window seat.
window seat with drywall closet with cabinet door
Houzzers bookmarked it for its smart use of Ikea cabinetry. By installing the cabinets on either side of this window space and framing them with drywall, the designer was able to make it look like they were built into the room.

between tiles, Johnston wanted to make sure the floor was perfect.Another field-finished item is the level-5 drywall finish. A level-5 finish is the smoothest and most labor intensive of all the drywall finishes, because it requires that the entire surface have a thin skim coat of joint compound (or another
another similar material) applied. This level of finish is the best when a semigloss or gloss paint is used and will prevent any drywall joints from telegraphing through. The purple cabinetry is a fun detail. The color was achieved by applying an easily removable and replaceable film over the cabinets.

share how the slider was trimmed. It appears to be a site built wood liner?, possibly 3/4". How far out does the liner extend beyond the drywall? I assume the drywall butts to it? Thank you.
