Double Take
The current owners were drawn to this Siemasko + Verbridge original and sought to call their own. The lure of the home and site, designed ten years earlier for the initial owners with the goal of creating a house rooted to the ground and composed of natural materials, was undeniable to the new family
Where did you get that size bulletin board?
Thanks for your question! The bulletin board was custom made.
like the area for chalkboard and peg board for info and calendars
sink before everyone enters the main part of the home a little cleaner
I know this is much bigger than what we are doing but I like the feel of the room. I like the storage spaces and I like the cork board for organizing.
Shelving door on bottom can flip down to store shoes. Would need it much longer though. Message board areas are a good idea.

back door entry
I'm in somewhat same situation so asking around for various bench dimensions. I am not planning to build a back but use either bead board on drywall plus loose pillow type cushions or just plain drywall with loose cushions. I've really been asking around the various banquettes on Houzz
cushion forward, so that the back cushion sits behind it? If so, this would be what I would advise. I believe our back cushion is upholstered on to a board, which is then hung using a cleat on the bench back. Good luck!
This home in Portland, Oregon, is loaded with savvy storage. I spy an L-shape bench with storage, a wall mounted shoe rack and hanging hooks aplenty.
The sleek design of this shoe rack is sure to fit in if your home has a modern vibe.

Keep Calm
Wood. This is the original stair case in a century home.
Painted risers and trim boards on side - for Mary Heaton
The design of the "Keep Calm and Carry On" poster is so simple, and the message so easily applied, it's no wonder that it's found a niche in decor — with companies slapping it on everything from mugs, to tea towels, to tablecloths

This Old House - Bedford
Hiya, I would love to feature this image on a primetime British property/home improvement television series called "Double Your House for Half the Money" transmitted on Channel 4 and presented by Sarah Beeny. I have sent an email
Again, like the bead board lining lockers with open storage above and below. Prefer a wood bench pictured in this photo instead of plain white bench.

Multi-purpose rooms make so much sense. This space answers the needs of most families: lots of storage for shoes, a place to hang a coat, leave a message, keep schedules visible, charge the cell phones, sign school notes ... those drawers even look wide enough to keep wrapping supplies handy.

like the mudroom message center - place for library books
I like the small area with the desk / bulletin board for MOM. Mom needs her own area for keys / calendar, etc.
perhaps a mixture of long shelves and cubbies would be better because cubbies, while organizing, restrict the width....
